Blog Post #3 Career Clusters
Career Cluster 1: Arts, A/V Technology & Communications
Journalism:
I could be a freelance journalist because I enjoy informing people about topics I'm interested in. I also think being a hotel critique would also be a great job. I could test out all the facilities, and then inform my readers about whether or not going there will be worth the money. I would enjoy these professions because I like researching and traveling even if it's just across town.
Career Cluster 2: Human Services
Guidance Counselling:
I could be a guidance counselor also, I enjoy listening to people's problems and giving advice and suggestions on how they might be able to handle difficult situations. I think I would best be a school counselor because i enjoy talking to kids and helping them.
Career Cluster 3: Marketing
Advertiser
I could be an advertiser because I enjoy designing around an idea and making it eye catching and well put together looking, and I like taking a product and thinking of ways that I can attract someone to purchase it.
Also in the field of advertising, I could be the one to come up with a slogan that the ad would focus on.

#1 Being Different Is Okay
I chose It's okay to be different as my topic. I agree with the way of thinking behind this, because it puts no limits on the many ways people can behave and interact in society. What I never seem to be able to understand is why people find the need to put every trait into a predefined slot. I usually assume it makes them feel comfortable in their surroundings, but if you have to change everyone else because you can't adjust, then you should just go somewhere else. Then again I don't think someone should even try to change one person!
I see a lot of this in popular culture, an example is Ioana Spangenberg, a Romanian-born model who has a permanent 20 inch waist, she eats three square meals a day and snacks on junk food when she can in between. The reason she stays so skinny is that she claims to have a very small stomach that acts sort of like a natural gastric band. The problem though, is that in Romania, being overweight means you come from a wealthy family. While being skinny means that your family is poor. So while her heavier friends were out, she stayed in and gorged herself on food hoping that she would fatten up. Now because of her body she became a model, which is how she met her husband Jan. Her husband has helped her finally be comfortable in her own skin and she can finally feel beautiful.
